We combine values, implementation expertise and an understanding of regulatory requirements – including within the context of the EU institutions.
Materna is an owner-managed family business with roots in the heart of Europe, its headquarters located barely 250 kilometres from Brussels. Our mission is clear: to shape digitalisation in such a way that it creates sustainable added value for people, organisations and society. For decades, we have stood for reliability, long-term partnerships and responsibility – towards our clients, our employees and, in particular, the public sector.
Our particular strength lies in our many years of experience and extensive expertise in public administration: we understand complex technical processes, regulatory requirements and the high expectations regarding security, transparency and continuity. We bring this know-how to the EU context – for example, in the creation or modernisation of administrative and specialist procedures, the implementation of interoperable, secure platforms, and in cross-cutting issues such as accessibility, data protection and resilient operating models. In this way, we support EU bodies and institutions in providing digital services in a confident, citizen-centred, efficient and future-proof manner.
As the Materna Group, we have an international presence and employ over 4,500 staff across more than 40 locations worldwide. Together, we are passionate about delivering innovative and sustainable IT and digitalisation projects for more than 1,200 clients. These include large corporations, high-growth medium-sized businesses and numerous federal and state government agencies. Our group ranks among the top employers in the IT sector and is one of the highest-turnover IT consulting and systems integration companies in Germany (Lünendonk). Our IT group comprises several subsidiaries and associated companies. For more than 40 years, Materna has stood for sustainable business practices, innovative IT projects and the highest quality in software projects. And despite all this progress, we also stand for tradition and stability: to this day, we remain 100% privately owned by the two founding families.
Elevate is our strategic programme for sustainable growth, digitalisation and corporate development through to 2029. To guide this journey, Materna has set itself a clear mission and vision that will underpin its growth trajectory. Elevate focuses on profitable growth, new market segments and the targeted use of artificial intelligence.
The programme builds on existing growth ambitions and translates them into a clear, implementation-oriented framework. The aim is to establish Materna as a leading European IT service provider and to achieve a turnover of around one billion euros by 2027.
